2013 Western Adventure Day 13

Today was our last breakfast in Jackson so we decided to drive up to one of our favorite restaurants, the Granary at Spring Creek Ranch. The ride from Jackson to Spring Creek Ranch provides lots of “eye candy”.

We have eaten at the Granary almost every time we’ve been to Jackson. Bab’s favorite is Huevos Rancheros and my favorite, trout with eggs over medium which we ordered.  We weren’t disappointed!

Before our breakfast was served we sipped coffee while enjoying the view from our window table.

Spring Creek Ranch also offers these quadruplex cabins for rent. Each cabin has a balcony which overlooks the Teton mountains and has a wood burning fireplace at the foot of your bed.

After breakfast, we made one more trip to Jackson square and snapped a few last photos.

We headed north out of Jackson to Moran Junction where we headed east toward Lander and Rawlins, WY with our last views of the Tetons.

The first 110 miles of the drive was on packed snow and ice covered roads.  Snowmobile tracks were everywhere for about 20 miles of high mountain passes.

Most people think of Wyoming as a flat desert terrain.  However, Wyoming really has an amazing variety of terrain.  This is what you see from Jackson Hole to Rollins, WY.

The only critters we say today was this herd of deer laying just off of the highway. They looked at us but made no attempt to move, Ho Hum!

Tonight we are at the Hampton Inn Rawlins, WY in a very nice room.  We were lucky to get into Rawlins in time to see most of the Ravens game. Tomorrow
we head tword Cheyenne but am not sure where we will end up for the night.
We plan on being home some time Friday.
Babs Says:  So sorry that we will not see Cris and Jerry. Cancer is abhorrent. On a lighter note - Ravens were prolific in Yellowstone and now they are flying to the Superbowl.
