2013 Western Adventure Day 10

At 8 a.m. we were ready to board the snow coach but weren’t picked up until around 8:40.  We were then taken to the company’s office where we hug around and waited for some late shows. When they finally arrived, about 9:15, we boarded a 34 passenger snow coach and headed to the park.  We had a new guide, Scott, who was very knowledgeable and entertaining but wouldn’t keep the heat at a constant level so the windows were always fogged up.  However, he did stop whenever something unusual or interesting presented itself. Once again you will be subjected to a mess of photos. Early on, we encountered the same combination of animals we saw yesterday, Eagle, Trumpeter Swans, and Buffalo.

Notice the bull on the right has no tail. The guide said he was attacked by wolves.
When Babs went to take the photo of the eagle, the camera, our newest would not work. Fortunately, I had thrown our old Kodak camera into my duffel bag or we would have had no photos. Now two of the three cameras we brought with us are dead!
There was lots of scenery to see on the way to our first destination, Old Faithful.

We took many more photos at Old Faithful than I will bore you with.
The yellow one is our snow coach but Babs took a photo of the blue one because it looked like the blue dodge van we donated to Purple Heart.

Guess not!

Today's snow coach.
Looks like our van we gave to Purple Heart has been refitted.
Our next stop was the Lower Geyser Basin and this is some of the scenery along the way.

You can thank, or criticize, Babs for the photos of the Lower Geyser Basin, because the altitude was getting to me so I sat on a stump while she joined the tour. I think that she did a great job!

Our last stop was Fire Hole Canyon and falls. This is some of the scenery along the way.

Fire Hole Canyon and falls is beautiful. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to do it justice with this camera.

The last critter we saw on the way home was this bale eagle in an unusual pose.
We are still undecided as to where we will be going tomorrow but it will probably be Jackson Hole, WY.
Babs Says: I am so tired of rubber eggs. Even a ladle of salsa on top doesn’t help.

  1. I can't believe all the people at Old Faithful. Great pics. Can't wait for the next installment. No snow here today.
